PERMANENT MAKE UP ~ WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT
Modern applications of the age-old art of tattooing provide a safe and natural-looking alternative to your daily make up routine. Permanent Make Up is a process where pigments are inserted into the dermal layer of the skin.
Strict sanitation and sterilisation guidelines are followed. Disposable, single use needles are used with each application. Pigments are all made from approved compounds, and most are mixed specifically for Permanent make up.
At your appointment we will go through a thorough consultation which will include a small amount of paperwork, a discussion of your desires, style and needs, the ability for Permanent Make Up to improve your life, and a review of your medical history.
We will also go through the aftercare needed to ensure correct care is taken to look after your newly applied cosmetics. Before the application begins pre-procedure photographs will need to be taken. These photographs are taken for our records and insurance purposes, they may also be used for portfolio's, your identity is kept completely confidential unless otherwise agreed upon.
Steps are taken to ensure you are as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure. Although everyone's tolerance levels are different, most clients agree that Permanent Make Up procedures are far more comfortable than anticipated. Every day new improvements are being made in the development of new topical anaesthetics made specifically for the field of permanent cosmetics. Most of these will be applied 10-30 minutes before your procedure begins. Others may be used during the procedure to ensure your comfort.
After your procedure you will be given instructions once again in aftercare and post-procedure photographs will be taken.
There will most likely be some swelling of the area. An example often given with eyeliner is that if you swell after a really good cry, you will probably swell almost exactly that amount during and after the procedure. Outer healing time varies, but is usually around 3 to 7 days.
In 4-6 weeks, when the inner healing is complete, we will want to see you again for a touch-up. Most Permanent Make Up procedures will require only one follow up appointment but in some cases there may be need for a third appointment. Also, when the healing process is complete we will need to take some final photographs to show your procedure at each stage of the application.
